Sabrina A. Bandali helps Canadian and international clients navigate a broad range of international trade and investment law issues. She provides strategic advice related to free trade and investment protection agreements, customs law, foreign corrupt practices, economic sanctions, export controls, trade remedies, supply chain/forced labour and international disputes, including investment treaty arbitration. She represents clients in a broad range of industries, including manufacturing, technology, consumer products, retail/fashion, life sciences, oil and gas, pharmaceuticals and agriculture.
Sabrina is a tenacious advocate for her clients. She has litigated matters before ad hoc international arbitration tribunals, the Canadian International Trade Tribunal, the Federal Court of Appeal, the Ontario Court of Appeal and the Ontario Superior Court of Justice (including the Commercial List). She represents clients in trade verifications, trade remedy disputes and appeals of customs valuation, tariff classification, and origin decisions by the Canada Border Services Agency.
As part of her advisory practice, Sabrina helps clients understand the tariff and non-tariff barriers to trade that affect importers and exporters. She develops practical strategies to optimize clients’ cross-border trade activity, including helping them navigate supply chain compliance risks. Sabrina assists businesses in designing and implementing anti-corruption, sanctions, forced labour and import/export compliance programs and conducts related internal investigations and audits.
Sabrina is a frequent speaker on matters related to international trade law and policy, and has testified about Canada’s sanctions regime before the Canadian Senate Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade. She is an adjunct professor at the University of Toronto Faculty of Law, where she teaches domestic and international anti-corruption law.
Sabrina is a member of the Advocates' Society, American Bar Association, Canadian Bar Association and Transparency International. She is a Past Chair of the Canadian Bar Association national Women Lawyers Forum.

Rita Trichur is an award-winning journalist. She is a Senior Business Writer and Columnist in the Report on Business. Her previous roles at The Globe and Mail include Senior Editor, Financial Services Editor, and Canadian business columnist for the Report on Business Magazine. Rita returned to Globe in July 2016 after spending about 2 ½ years as a reporter for The Wall Street Journal’s Canada bureau. She primarily covered domestic banks and insurance companies from Toronto, but also wrote a variety of other stories about Canada for the U.S. newspaper. Prior to WSJ, Rita spent more than three years at the Globe, initially working as a general assignment reporter in the Report on Business before covering the telecom beat. Rita has also covered financial services and economics for the Toronto Star, and has held various roles at the Canadian Press and the Ottawa Sun. She got her first byline at age 6 when the Toronto Star published her short story about a fish-stealing cat and paid her $10. Rita, who also speaks French, was born in Toronto. She has a Bachelor of Journalism and Political Science and a M.A. in Canadian Studies – both from Carleton University in Ottawa.
Paul received his M.Sc. in economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science in England and his B.A. in economics from the University of Western Ontario in London, Canada. From 2003 to 2010, Paul served as senior deputy governor of the Bank of Canada. He was the Bank’s chief operating officer and a member of its board of directors. His duties included overseeing strategic planning, the conduct of monetary policy as a member of the Bank’s governing council and participating in fulfilling the Bank’s responsibilities for promoting financial stability.
In addition to his position at the C.D. Howe Institute, Jenkins is past Chair of the board of governors of the University of Western Ontario and a member of the Ottawa Community Foundation Investment Committee.
Armed with experience in business development in the retail trade and an MBA from Queen’s University, Hugo officially joined Germain Hôtels’ operations in 2006.
Involved from the outset in the development of the Alt concept, Hugo actively participated in the design, construction, start-up and operations of the first Alt property and held the position of General Manager of Alt Hotel Quartier DIX30 in its first year of operation. He is committed to making the banner a leader in its field in Canada.
Hugo is Chairman of the Board of Directors of Horizon Charlevoix. He is also a member of the boards of directors of the Séminaire Saint-François and its Foundation, as well as the Festival d’été de Québec since 2013.
