She also has expertise in disruptive innovation in the end-to-end process as well as product design. Sheri is a rebel and eternal student who loves bringing out the best in people. She's made a career of simplifying the complex, and rethinking supply chain strategy and the customer experience. She hosts a top podcast, Supply Chain Revolution, that evangelizes the future of the sector. Her vision is to change the world through shared purpose and sustainable supply chains, circularity and building technology grounded in the principles of sustainable development.
Julie, a committed entrepreneur, has more than 10 years of experience in the field of sustainability within the CPG industry. With a bachelor's degree in communication, and a master's degree in environmental science and sustainable development, she is incredibly passionate and committed to bringing innovation to the food industry, thereby improving the environmental impact that our food choices have on the planet.
After leading many companies' green initiatives, she left everything behind to co-found LOOP Mission, a circular economy company that aims to reduce food waste by upcycling food from the industry and transforming it into delicious products. A great supporter of female entrepreneurship, Julie has been CEO of the company since its creation in 2016 and was recently named on the Clean 50 list and one of the Three Favourites of Femmessor's "100 women entrepreneurs who changed the world" campaign.
Tima Bansal is a Professor of Strategy at the Ivey Business School. She is also affiliated with the University of Cambridge, MIT, and Monash University. Tima is the Executive Director (and Founder) of the Network for Business Sustainability, a growing network of over 35,000 followers from management research and practice committed to advancing sustainable business. She also heads Innovation North, which helps businesses create value for themselves and society simultaneously over the long term. Tima chairs the Canadian Council of Academies Expert Panel on the Circular Economy and sits on the Boards of the United Nation’s Principles for Responsible Education and the Academy of Management.
Tima has received significant accolades for her scholarship. She holds a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Business Sustainability; she is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada and a Fellow of the Academy of Management; she was awarded the Distinguished Scholar Award by the Organizations and Natural Environment; and, she was the first Canadian to be named a Faculty Pioneer for Academic Leadership by the Aspen Institute, a global forum for business and society headquartered in Washington, D.C.
Tima’s research targets the interplay between business strategy and sustainability. Her TedX talk describes some of her recent ideas. She has published in several top research journals including the Academy of Management Journal, the Academy of Management Review, Organization Science, and the Strategic Management Journal. She has co-edited two books about business and the natural environment.
Tim Faveri is Vice-President, Sustainability and Shared Value at Maple Leaf Foods. In this capacity, Tim leads the development and execution of the strategy and initiatives that deeply embed sustainability and shared value into Maple Leaf’s culture and business. Sustainability and shared value provide the framework for Maple Leaf’s purpose – Raise the Good in Food.
Tim is a seasoned business and sustainability professional and his specialties include sustainability strategy development and implementation; carbon management; corporate reporting and disclosure; stakeholder engagement; and supply chain and environmental risk assessment and verification. Prior to joining Maple Leaf, Tim was Director for Sustainability and Responsibility at Tim Hortons.
Tim sits on the Board of Directors of Circular Materials Ontario. He holds a Bachelor’s degree (Biology) from Queen’s University and a Master’s of Health Science degree from University of Toronto.
Bilal Jarmakani is Managing Director and Founder at Solar X, a company that helps homeowners and businesses across the nation go solar and become Net-Zero. Bilal's work has led to Canada's first solar recycle and reuse initiative, which was featured on CBC and is making a positive difference in how the industry operates in both Canada and developing countries around the world. Bilal was recognized among the Top Sustainability Leaders for 2022 in the Emerging Leaders category on the Delta Clean50 list.
